Much like vitamin D, calcium and magnesium, can present something of a challenge as well.  A lack in these two key minerals can not only cause weak bones, but can also give rise to neurological disorders, sleep disorders and other problems.  Calcium and magnesium play a far more important role than simply building stronger bones.  It is also vital to note that not all calcium and magnesium supplements are created equal.  When you are selecting a supplement for calcium and magnesium, consider the source of the minerals.  Some sources are more readily absorbed than others.  Natural forms of calcium and magnesium may be more readily absorbed by the body and thus may provide better long term results.

Many Options to Consider
Vitamin D, calcium and magnesium supplements are all very important ones to consider, but they are far from being the only dietary supplements that the experts use.  A good multi-vitamin derived from whole foods may be another pick worth considering.  Additionally, a supplement that contains a respectable amount of vitamin K is also worth considering.  Once overlooked, vitamin K can do wonders to help strengthen bones, helps with blood clotting and may work to help protect against cancer.  The good news is that there are many different types of supplements that can help improve one's overall health.  Just remember that not all dietary supplements are created equally, so do your research.  Make sure that the supplements you are taking are from quality sources.
